A portrait workshop designed to help you to capture beautiful photographs through hands-on application of photography techniques and secrets of the best photographers in the world.
In this intensive eight-hour portrait photography workshop you will be working with a model as your instructor guides you through the process of capturing stunning portraits. There will be explanations on the portrait photography fundamentals for creating captivating images through the process of shaping light and shadow.

What to expect
The portrait photography workshop is casual and relaxed with ample time for you to hone your newly learned skills and discussion with your instructor on applying the principles presented in the workshop.
We have created this portrait workshop on the idea that you only need to bring your favorite camera and lens, so you are familiar with using your gear. During the photography workshop, all is taken care off for you, and we will provide lunch, drinks and have breaks in between sessions to create the ideal environment for learning.
You will be working with a professional model during the portrait photography workshop while your instructor gives you tips on developing rapport to guide your model to capture beautiful portraits. This will provide you with hands-on experience in developing the skills and know-how in portrait photography.
One of the most common questions we get asked in our photography workshops is how to edit the photographs to bring out the best details and quality. This is where your instructor will show you how to edit portraits in Adobe Lightroom so you may learn to apply the principles of editing images that professional retouchers use for high-end photographs.
Location: The location is my residence in beautiful Vancouver, Canada where we will work with available light as well as studio lights.
Accommodations: If you are traveling to Vancouver, there are plenty of inexpensive hotels and Airbnb nearby.
Payments are non-refundable but may be transferred to another person if you decide you can’t attend. You will be responsible for finding a replacement.

The Photography Workshops are designed on a 4 days schedule, commence on Thursday and end on Sunday. In total workshop consists of more 20 hours of theory and practice with strong emphasis on hands-on experience with the application of photography fundamentals and techniques. During the workshop, each participant will work on various photography techniques to create a framework to further his/her photography skills.
What you need – Gear
We begin with the fundamentals of portrait photography, and we invite you to take notes. We recommend that you bring two of your favorite lenses and camera.
What you will gain – Knowledge & Skills
Our Portrait Photography workshops are designed to improve your level of portrait photography skills by introducing you to new concepts and theories that can immediately be applied. During the workshop, you will be working with a professional model and other attendees who are also seeking to expand their knowledge of photography. Most attendees own cameras and lenses but are not required to own for attending the workshop. We believe that the most important element in capturing better photographs is the person behind the camera.
Results – Better Photography
When you complete our Portrait Photography Workshop, you can expect to be more confident and skilled at taking portraits whether you aspire to develop a career as a professional photographer or simply want to capture better photographs.
10.00 am – 6.00 pm: We begin with a discussion on portrait photography. A question and answer session will follow then we begin with the applying some of the classic principles of shaping light for composing beautiful portraits. It is a very relaxing environment with the aim to understand how lighting, exposure and camera settings can be best applied for capturing better portraits.
12.30 pm – 1.30 pm: We will have a lunch with a question and answer session with your instructor.
1.30 pm – 4.30 pm : Your instructor will show you step by step in creating beautiful portraits while you will work on different aspects of lighting and photography with other attendees.
4.30 pm – 6.00 pm : We will begin editing in images in Adobe Lightroom. Your instructor will show you the basics of editing techniques including Kelvin scale adjustments, highlights, contrast, exposure, and much more.
